Title: Tug
Author: K.J. Bell
Review & Promo tour organised by: Flirty and Dirty Book Blog

Aidan Hunter lost the only girl he ever loved to his older brother. To numb his pain, he drinks in excess, parties too hard, and sleeps with countless women. When his family expresses concern, he does what he's been taught to do—fake it and pretend his life is perfect. Pretend he loves his new girl and pretend his heart isn’t broken.

Maria Santiago is simply trying to survive each day until she finishes college. As a single mother, life is a constant struggle. Add running from a dangerous past and working in the oldest profession, and all she has is hope for a better life. Hope one day she will no longer feel shame and hope her past never catches up with her.

After Aidan pays to spend one wild night with Maria, pretending to be unaffected by her is impossible. Their night comes to an explosive end and Maria hopes she never sees him again, but Aidan refuses to give up. As Maria begins to accept that Aidan’s feelings for her are genuine, someone from her past threatens her life. Aidan’s not intimidated and takes a huge risk to protect her.

Will the risk pay off and allow Aidan the opportunity to provide Maria with the better life she’s been hoping for?

Having read and loved the Irreparable Series by K.J. Bell I couldn’t wait to pick up Tug. In fact, I was desperate to know how his story would unfold. Needless to say as soon as my copy of Tug hit my kindle I started reading and basically didn’t stop til I was done.

Tug is fast paced, filled with emotion and steam. The chemistry between Tug and Maria is intense and perfectly suited to the Tug we got to know in Irreversible Damage. He grew from the fun loving younger brother into a slightly bitter and jaded man – broken by his unreturned love for Tori and the Tug we saw more of in this story is exactly what I expected.

The relationship with Maria moved fairly quickly, although I saw this as a reflection of Tug’s dominant character. Maria was the perfect foil for Tug – challenging, confronting and not just giving in to his every whim (well at least not in the first instance anyway).

I loved that we got to see more of other characters from the series – Liv and Harrison face some challenges, and things aren’t necessarily smooth sailing for Tori and Brady either. Tug has to deal with his feelings for Tori and work out just where they belong.

I got to the end of the book and thought … WTF!! Then re-read a few pages and groaned out load. K.J. Bell has left us hanging, but the crafty thing has done it in a way that has me hooked, so now I’ll be waiting, waiting, waiting for the conclusion to Tug’s story.

Important to note, that while Tug is introduced in the Irreparable Series you can read Tug as a standalone.
